10.) Do I have to supply the images or can you guys find what I'm looking for?
11.) Do etchings wear out?
12.) What can I expect for turnaround time on my monument?
13.) The picture I'm sending needs to be smaller/bigger are you able to resize it?
1.) Can things be added or subtracted from a picture? Like a hat, or a chair.
Yes. If you supplied a picture of a man and wanted a hat added we can do that. If you sent us a picture of a house and it had some trees you didn't like or some accessories in the lawn you wanted removed that can also be done.
2.) Can I send you multiple pictures and have your company combine them?
Of course! If you sent us a picture of a house and then a car in another picture we could very easily add those into the same image. If you liked the deer from one scene but the landscape from another scene we can actually pull these things together into one scene. Don't hesitate to ask about combining things!
3.) If I sent you a picture of the front of our house, can you turn it so you can see the side of the house?
In most cases, probably not unless you supplied pictures of the side of the house. Without pictures we have no idea on how to figure out what the side looked like. We may add a window but it might have actually had a door! So if you wanted things turned or changed beyond the limits of one picture you would need to supply more images.
4.) I have a picture of my family member but its not the greatest. It has some wear and tear on it, scratches or is fairly damaged. Can you restore this?
We try our hardest to repair images as best we can. Sometimes images aren't repairable though. Just show us the picture and we would be able to tell you if it is or not. You may be surprised what we can do! We've been able to change complete contrast, fixed faces, shoulders, added noses, glasses, you name it! Please remember to consider that if a image requires an extreme amount of repair we may have to add additional charges.
5.) I saw one job you guys did and the etching was fantastic! But then I saw another etching and it wasn't as good. Why is this?
Higher quality images guarantee higher quality etchings. The better the picture, the better the etching.
6.) Hmm.. I like the etchings but I would prefer to have them in color. Is this possible?
It sure is! We have two techniques we can do. Traditionally we would apply paint to the etching after its been etched and now we have a new process that etches in color called Glass Art. If you would like something to be in color please supply a colored image so that we know what colors to use. Glass Art pricing may be different then painted pricing.
7.) When will I know that you completed my order? Should I call you?
We actually email approval drawings out when the job has been completed. Unless you stated that you needed the drawing mailed to you, just keep an eye on your email. Turn around is usually a week or so but if you have an questions or concerns please don't hesitate to call us!
8.) I got the approval but its in black and white. I wanted the etching to be in color.
When we first send out drawings it will be in black and white as thats the format we use. The color is added on after the etching has been etched on the stone.
9.) I need to make a change to the approval drawing I received. How do I go about doing this?
We ask that everyone either emails us or faxes changes to the order. We would like to keep a paper trail of everything and it also enables us to go back and reread things. There wouldn't be any miscommunication and everyone would be on the same track. This doesn't mean you cant call us! We are always willing to answer any questions you have we just ask that you still email/fax any changes you wish to make.
10.) Do I have to supply the images or can you guys find what I'm looking for?
The choice is yours, really. Its normally easier to go with what you provide because then there's no questions if we have the right image but we can also provide the picture for you. We have numerous sources for images. We do ask that you try to be specific however. If you want a bird say what kind of bird. If you want a specific pose or angle please specific that so that we don't put the wrong one.
11.) Do etchings wear out?
If you have purchased a quality stone product with an industry standard polish finish, the etching will still be there long after we are all gone.
11.) What can I expect for turnaround time on my monument?
Drawings usually take about a week or so to get completed and sent out. Once the drawing is approved black and white etchings take about a week to be completed. If its in color, be it glass art or paint, it can take a bit longer.
11.) The picture I'm sending needs to be smaller/bigger are you able to resize it?
Assuming its a decent quality picture then yes, we can. We can resize it to whatever you want. If its a poor quality image it makes it a bit harder to resize the image without losing focus and losing even more quality.
