Terminology
The name Family Memorials has been well known in the Barre memorialization industry for many generations, producing quality memorials of lasting quality in addition to numerous other memorial related products. The company was established in 1938 and has 70 years of history in the memorialization industry. The company is jointly owned by Randy and Sue Walker. Randy and Sue along with Matthew, Elisabeth and Eddie reside in South Barre.
We deal exclusively with a number of local manufacturers, wholesalers and importers of memorial products who we work closely with on quality control and shipping deadlines with our primary focus being value added Etched Products on monumental grade granite, marble and landscape products. Utilizing todays latest technology and software we produce unique and quality etched products. We offer custom Diamond Hand Etchings, CO2 Laser Etchings and our exclusive all new Glass Art Laser process. The manufacturing side is personally supervised by the owner, Randy Walker. Quality and consistent reliable service has always been our focus here at Family Memorials, which means that every single product is carefully scrutinized. We offer top quality etched memorial products at competitive prices, making us one of the world's leading suppliers in etched products producing over 3200 etched monuments per year. We currently run three CNC large format lasers with bed sizes of 12 foot x 4 foot, 4 foot x 8 foot and our newest monster of 6 foot x 10 foot with the latter two having modified high powered lasers enabling them to produce our new patented and exclusive Glass Art Etching process. We have plans for a fourth specialized CNC in the spring of 2009.
We use nothing but the best in coloring systems for both conventional colored etchings and our exclusive Glass Art Laser process. Our Glass Art Laser process is the only coloring process for granite that we are aware of that carries a long term warranty covering fading, chipping, cracking, peeling, etc. In addition to providing traditional etched images we also offer custom graphics of our own style and creativity. The possibilities are endless as our customers have the option of requesting totally custom designs which we create from scratch using top quality digital graphics tablets.
Our clientele base is primarily Northeastern United States due to freight costs but with the advent of the World Wide Web we are open to all possibilities of business.
We are continually improving our products and the services we provide to meet the needs of customers throughout our service market. In return they have rewarded us with years of their loyalty. Our company was in business yesterday and will be in business tomorrow.
We have been supplying our customers with various types of memorial products since 1938 and our company has evolved through the years. In 2003 we shifted our focus from manufacturing memorial products to a value added manufacturer with our emphasis solely on providing quality etched images onto other peoples products. In 2006 we introduced Glass Art technology allowing us to produce full detail etched images on low contrast materials like Barre Gray or North American Pink granites. This patented exclusive process gives us a large advantage over our competition. In addition to the services we now provide to our customers we continue to aggressively work on research and development of new products to help our customer base stay more profitable than their competition. Although the brunt of our business has been geared towards servicing our local monument industry we have recently begun providing custom design and etching services in other business sectors including large architectural glass and mirror panel projects, custom cabinetry for both kitchens and bathrooms and custom etchings on granite and marble countertops including backsplash and tile. We have also etched on custom rifles and pistols.
We are an established company with a reputation as an honest business. Family Memorials LLC has been serving the death care industry since 1938. As a manufacturer-wholesaler, we deal exclusively through granite manufacturers, wholesalers and importers of granite and marble memorials products. These companies sell to and service monument retailers, monument builders, funeral homes and cemeteries.
